HOW JUMPING OFF A CLIFF SAVED MY LIFE AND HELPED ME CRE8 MY SUCCESS
Hello everyone San here,
The title really says it all doesn’t it? Just how does jumping off of a cliff save your life though? Simple, read on and I will explain a little.
Head spinning full of doubt?
I was on the edge, not the edge of the cliff, not yet. I was on the edge of quitting, giving up, not wanting to face the fact of no one is reading my messages I post here and I still doubt anyone is reading them now. Not reading my posts is not the point, the point is I was in the depths of despair about my situation. My wife knew this, even though I never spoke to her about it, she always knows. So she suggested that we go somewhere and get a break from our problems.
I want to believe in myself, to bring self confidence and faith to my readers, it is the whole point of this website. There are times when things get a little fuzzy even for someone full of confidence and you will need to do something to refresh your mind and bring you back to being driven towards your goals and making it worth getting up in the morning.
Finding an outlet for my fear
Either way I was were I was emotionally and I needed something to get me out of the funk surrounding me. We went island hopping with some of the family and we came to this island, it had a cave with a cliff you could jump off of. I was so scared of jumping when I came to the edge of the cliff it made me back away, my knees shaking and my heart in my throat. I told my wife I didn’t think I could do it.
She smiled at me, said “You only live once.” She put on her life jacket and before I knew it she was in the water with a large splash. She came up in a flurry of bubbles and smiled at me.
“It is okay” she said, “It is deep, I didn’t touch the bottom, jump baby!!!!”
I look at her face, it was full of life and full of excitement. I went to the edge once again and I
looked down. My mind was racing, telling myself “you have jumped out of airplanes and from places much higher than this before.” and “your wife just jumped and she is fine, so what are you scared of?”
Heart in my throat, knees shaking
I was still looking down when a wave of nausea began to creep into my throat. I told myself I was not going to let this beat me, I am not going to go down in defeat again, I am tired of feeling defeated, of letting my fears rule my life. With my pounding heart in my throat and my knees beginning to buckle I felt myself squat into a jumping position and suddenly I was flying through the air accelerating down towards the unknown.
I pierced the surface of the water with a loud splash, I felt my velocity being slowed by the warm sea water, my feet touched the soft bottom, I squatted down and pushed upward. I must have pushed upward very hard because when I reached the surface again I came up out of the water to my waist. I felt the emotions I had seen on my wife’s face earlier. I was alive, I was free from my problems, nothing was going to stop me ever again from realizing this feeling again.
The message of this post is overcome your fears, think through them and see your way to the goal. When you are feeling what you are doing to achieve your goals is not working or the world is ganging up on you placing fear and doubt in your heart. Find yourself a safe little place like a good cliff with some water to land in and jump.
Later in the day we came across another island, it had a place to jump also, it was not so dramatic as the cliff, not as high, but high enough to make you think about it. It was a dock, I jumped without hesitation, over and over again with a bigger smile with each jump.
Be safe if you are going to jump, always.
I want to pass on the freedom jumping gave me to you. Just when you think things are not going to work out for you, when you feel like giving up, feel like quitting, feel like it is not worth it any more, JUMP OFF A CLIFF, ( find a safe one please, mine was about 15 feet into about 12 feet of water) it will revive you and show you, while things look scary from that perched spot of doubt, when you reach your goal you will know how I felt when I came up out of that water.
Taking Personal Responsibility For Success
I no longer feel that anyone is not reading, I am not concerned if you are not reading. I am heading towards my goals with or without you. It is the only attitude I can have. My success is not based on anyone but me. If I am successful or if I am not successful it is my responsibility, I know that my motto is “Your success is my success” and the motto has not changed. I want you to be successful, so successful that you live and breath that success, but I am not responsible to make you successful, it is your responsibility and yours alone. I am here to provide you with tools to assist you in making your success a reality.
I look forward to helping you achieve the success you so much desire and I am honored to have some role in your achievements.
